It doesn’t really make a difference whether you buy your tickets online or at the train station in our experience. However, it is important to know that on rare occasions (during Semana Santa, the local Feria’s, Carnaval in Cadiz, or the Moto GP in Jerez for example) trains can already be full by the time you get to buy your ticket in the station and therefore you would have to wait to get the next train. On the other hand, if you have already booked your train ticket, unforeseen circumstances may occur such as your flight being delayed which will result in you missing your train and thus, losing the money spent on the original ticket. Overall, it is down to personal preference which choice you prefer to make.
